Volunteer at Church

Help With Worship

New voices are always welcome in worship. If you enjoy proclaiming the Word of God by reading Bible passages aloud, or leading in liturgy or song, there is a place for you here!

Lead Groups

Leaders are also needed for adult classes and book studies.

Work With Children

Like to work with children? Talk with our Children’s Ministry Director to help out with Christian Education and youth ministry (fingerprinting and background check required).

Become a Host

You can be a greeter, host a coffee hour, or help curate an art show.

Deacons and Elders

CPC members are called into leadership in a number of ways as Deacons and Elders. As a leader, you can be a liaison with other churches in the presbytery or be the “glue” that binds a community partnership together. You can help make policy and financial decisions for the church. And you can ensure our members and friends are cared for and made to feel at home when on our campus.

Advocate, or Just Be Present

Christ calls us to be witnesses of His transforming power, and to take action on behalf of
God’s beloved community in our daily lives–as individuals, as families, and as a church body.

Be Present

You’re invited to:

    • Be on our Run to Feed the Hungry team
    • Be the face of CPC at Carmichael Founder’s Day or another public event
    • Share ideas for events where CPC can participate with someone on our Outreach team

Become an Advocate

We live in California’s capital city, which gives us many opportunities to elevate social and economic concerns to our elected officials, or simply to demonstrate in support or in protest. As you get to know people at CPC, ask them about:

    • Attending public events and marches
    • Writing letters to elected officials
    • Participating in education events on social issues
    • Attending meetings such as the county board of supervisors or chamber of commerce

Community Care Opportunities

World Wide Presbyterian Mission

Carmichael Presbyterian Church takes very seriously the connectional nature of our denomination. These connections extend to churches in our presbytery, synod, General Assembly, and around the world. Our annual church budget reflects that commitment. Ask a member of our Session for more information about how we participate in peacemaking and mission worldwide.
